On June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., Legionnaires from American Legion Post 193 of Chapin, South Carolina, will lay to rest the cremated remains of previously unclaimed veterans at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

These veterans honorably served their country when called upon to do so and deserve to be buried with the honor and dignity earned through their service to our nation. Members of The American Legion and supporting veteran organizations will ensure these Patriots receive the dignified interment they deserve.

The cremated remains of these Patriots will be transported by Whitaker Funeral Home and escorted to Fort Jackson National Cemetery from Chapin American Legion Post 193, 102 Lexington Avenue, Chapin, South Carolina, departing at 10:10 a.m. on June 12, 2026.

The service will be officiated by Chapin Post 193 Chaplain Richard Mullinax. An Honor Guard provided by the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy and Rock Hill American Legion Post 34 will render military honors. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
