Justin Foxworth is our newest Veteran of the Week!
Justin Foxworth, graduated from Latta High School in 1997 and enlisted in the US Navy shortly after graduation. He attended formal training at Recruit Training Command and Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, IL, Field Medical Service School Jacksonville, NC, and Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman "C" School in San Diego, CA.
His assignments included the following:
- Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL
- USS ESSEX (LHD2) Sasebo, Japan
- Naval Branch Health Clinic Sasebo, Japan
- USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) San Diego, CA
- 2D Marine Division (3D Battalion 9th Marines, 3D Battalion 6th Marines, and 22D Marine Expedition Unit Command Element)
- Transient Personnel Unit Norfolk, VA
- USS GRAVELY (DDG 107) Norfolk, VA
- Naval Consolidated Brig Charleston, SC
He deployed in support of operation on Naval Warships in the 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 7th Fleets, with Marine Corps Units to Iraq and Afghanistan, and humanity missions on the hospital ship USNS Mercy and USS Essex .
In 2008, He was recognized by WMBF News & Navy NewsStand for saving an Australian hiker’s life Debra Paver, a lawyer from Melbourne that had been hiking the Kokoda Trail in the Owen Stanley Mountain Range of Papua New Guinea. Read the full WMBF News story HERE.

He currently works for Clemson Cooperative Extension as a Rural Health and Nutrition Agent and is the County Coordination for Dillon County. He also is a member of the Dillon County Revolutionary War 250 committee, conducting research and identifying historical landmarks in Dillon County. His efforts ensure that the first Veterans of Dillon County are recognized for their commitment to ensure the freedom of our nation. He participated in last year's Dillon County Veterans Health Fair and provided food to feed Veterans. He also won 2024 Veteran of the year for Dillion County in SC.
