Deputy Director of Facilities Management

Robert HoskinsRobert J. Hoskins joined the South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs as the Deputy Director of Facilities Management in March 2024.

Robert served in the US Army from 1990 to 2013 as an Infantryman and Senior Enlisted Advisor through an assembly of assignments while stationed at Ft Bragg NC., Germany, Ft Polk LA, Ft Campbell KY., Ft Jackson SC., and Korea. Robert has had numerous combat deployments overseas in support of US Operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and he has completed a number of military qualifications including Ranger School, Jump Master School, Path Finder School, and Air assault School.

After his retirement from the US Army Robert moved to South Carolina where he completed his Doctorate in Management and continued to serve his community as a state employee for the SC Department of Education and then for the SC Department of Mental Health.

Robert has been a state employee for several years and has fulfilled positions such as a Project Coordinator, County Supervisor, Program Manager, Project Manager, Contract Administrator and more recently as a Project Executive where he has been responsible for leading and managing the States New VA Nursing Home Construction Projects. During his career with the State, Robert has received credentials as a Certified Public Manager, and certification as a Project Management Professional.

Robert and his wife Nicole reside in West Columbia with their three adult children, who are all attending college.
