Town Hall meeting to learn about the important updates impacting Veteran VA Gov Services.

During this meeting, we will be discussing recent changes to the DS Logon system and outlining what veterans need to do in order to access VA.gov moving forward. This is an excellent opportunity to ask questions, receive guidance, and ensure a smooth transition with your VA account access.

Special Note: Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time for seating.

We encourage all veterans, caregivers, and community partners to attend. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to reach out.

Why This Matters to You

In 2025, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is streamlining and strengthening its digital services by transitioning away from older sign-in options. Here's what you need to know:

  • Key Change:
Starting October 1, 2025, the DS Logon will no longer be a valid sign-in method for VA.gov or other VA online services.
  • What’s Replacing It:
Veterans and beneficiaries will need to use either a Login.gov or ID.me account to securely access VA websites and mobile apps.
  • My HealtheVet Users:
Although the My HealtheVet sign-in option was removed on March 5, 2025, you can still use the My HealtheVet health portal by logging in with Login.gov or ID.me credentials.
  • Enhanced Security with MFA:
Both Login.gov and ID.me accounts use multifactor authentication (MFA) to better protect your personal and health information.
  • Why This Change Is Happening:
This transition is part of a broader modernization effort by the VA, in alignment with President Biden’s Executive Order on improving cybersecurity and enhancing the digital experience for Veterans.
  • What About Your Existing Accounts?
According to the VA, your information and records in My HealtheVet or DS Logon will not be lost. You are simply changing how you sign in.
  • What You Need to Do Now:
We strongly encourage you to set up a Login.gov or ID.me account as soon as possible to avoid disruptions when accessing VA services later this year.

This Town Hall will walk you through these changes, help you understand how to create or transition to a new account, and answer your questions. If you require additional assistance, please contact my office at (864)598-7089 to schedule an appointment with one of our veteran service officers.
