
COLUMBIA, S.C.- The cremated remains of five previously unclaimed Veterans will soon be laid to rest at Fort Jackson Cemetery on Friday, August 22, 2025. Legionnaires from the American Legion Post 193 of Chapin, SC, along with other Veteran service organizations, will assist in their interment.
Services for the following Veterans will take place at 11 a.m.:
· SP/4 Nolan Dugas Jr. United States Army Service dates June 14, 1972 – March 9, 1982
· SP4 (T) William J. Faircloth United States Army Service dates April 1, 1969 – February 1, 1971
· PV2 Everette L. Boice United States Army Service dates November 1, 1968 – November 1, 1970
· PVT Scott T. Plonski United States Army Service dates June 1, 1972 – August 1, 1972
· A1C Kathleen (Harlach) Hodge United States Air Force Service dates July 1, 1983 – July 1, 1989
These fallen patriots will be transported by Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin and escorted to the Fort Jackson National Cemetery from Chapin American Legion Post 193 at 10:10 a.m. by American Legion and the Patriot Guard Riders.
US Army Chaplain Col (Ret) Samuel Boone will officiate this service, which is open to the public. An Honor Guard from the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and American Legion Post 71 of North Augusta, SC will provide full military honors.
