Thomas Kreitzer joined the South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs as the Operations Training Officer in May of 2023. Kreitzer grew up in southern Ohio, raised by his mother and grandparents. He joined that National Guard in 1997 serving as an Infantryman on multiple stateside and overseas deployments.

In 2007, Kreitzer joined the National Guard Bureau Title 10 Force on Active Duty, serving in various positions and stations throughout the U.S., to include Fort Bragg, Fort Rucker, Fort Jackson, and Fort Shaftner, Hawaii. He finished out his 25-year career as the United States Army Pacific Command RC Career Counselor. Upon retirement Kreitzer moved back to Chapin, SC with his wife and two children.
