Kami Drakes joined the South Carolina Department of Veterans Affair in March 2023, as the Transitional Housing Coordinator. She has a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and has in South Carolina state government since August 2007, with 8 years of service in transitional services.

"I joined SCDVA to be a service to Veterans and their families. I am motivated to help them re-connect with their communities with adequate housing and services. My goal is to be a buffer for Veterans in bridging the gaps through outreach and support. I am very excited about this new role and leadership and a chance to combat homelessness in our state."
