 VOTW Jacquline Johnson

January 21, 2025

SN Jacquline Johnson is our newest Veteran of the Week!

Jacqueline Johnson is a devoted wife and mother of two adult children. She is a Navy Veteran who served as an E3 Seaman on the USS Sierra for four years, stationed in Charleston, SC, with opportunities to travel and serve in Italy, Spain, Turkey, and Portugal. After completing her military service, Jacqueline pursued higher education, earning an associate degree from Trident Technical College in 1998, a BS in Criminal Justice from Charleston Southern University in 2001, and a master’s degree in Community Counseling Psychology from Springfield College.

Currently, Jacqueline works for Charleston County Government, where she is certified in Alcohol and Drug Counseling. With over 10 years of experience, she serves as a counselor for the Adult Drug Court and Veterans Treatment Court programs, helping individuals who struggle with substance abuse—a population she refers to as the "forgotten" ones. Jacqueline is deeply passionate about her role and finds purpose in witnessing the transformation of her clients from incarceration to graduation. While the work can be emotionally taxing, especially when she loses patients to overdose or incarceration, Jacqueline remains determined to offer second chances to those seeking recovery.

In her free time, Jacqueline enjoys watching her favorite television show, Walker Texas Ranger, gardening, and spending quality time with her family. She is also an active member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church, where she has been a dedicated attendee for over 20 years and contributes to the Children’s Ministry team.
