An impressive gathering of community members and Veteran-advocates showed up to celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This amazing addition to the Columbia VA Health Care System is vital in ensuring Veterans can receive the care they need, closer to home.
Jeffrey Soots, Acting Director of the Columbia VA Health Care System, shared remarks on the significance of opening this new facility and what it means for the Veterans and families within the Rock Hill community. Following the ceremony, attendees were given the opportunity to tour the clinic. The CBOC offers primary care, mental health, social work, laboratory services, and more.
County Veterans affairs officers from York County and Spartanburg, and SCDVA's Midlands Regional Integration Officer, Jelani Edwards, attended the ribbon cutting along with SCDVA Veteran of the Year, MSG (Ret.) Alfonso Boyd.
Though the clinic opened its doors and welcomed their first patient in July of last year, this ceremony offered a chance to spread the word and ensure all Veterans and their family members are aware of the expanded services now available to them.
